The Dutch Ministry of Health will continue the growing and distribution of governmentcannabis until the first of January 2007. This is concluded in an evaluation in November 2005. Not many patients use the governmentcannabis, which is relatively expensive. Therefore the project isn't profitable.
Further development of a registered product isn't a job for the government but for pharmaceutical companies, says the Minister. Pharmaceutical companies have the time until September 2006 to make plans for a registered product. In 2007 the Minister will make a decision about the cannabis policy.
